Accessibility

We build accessible services for federal agencies, and we hold our own website to the same standard.

Our commitment

ByDesign Technology wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or voice control. Our goal is to meet the Revised Section 508 Standards and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

What we do

  • Use semantic HTML, headings, and landmarks so the page structure is clear to assistive technology.
  • Make every link and control reachable and usable with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Meet WCAG color contrast requirements for text and interface elements.
  • Respect your system’s reduced-motion setting, and keep animations short.
  • Provide text alternatives for meaningful images and hide decorative ones from screen readers.
  • Test with automated tools and by hand with a keyboard before we publish changes.
